EAGLE CREEK SOFTWARE LOCATES IN VALLEY CITY

11/02/2004 - Eagle Creek Software Services President Ken Behrendt announced the signing of an agreement between the Valley City-Barnes County Development Corporation and Eagle Creek to establish a technology and customer service center in Valley City, N.D.

The Deephaven, Minn. company provides customer relationship management (CRM) software services for Fortune 1,500 companies. The Valley City center is expected to employ about 20 consultants initially and grow to about 100 employees by the end of 2006.

We selected Valley City because the community clearly demonstrated the greatest understanding of our needs while having the capabilities to meet these same needs far into the future. Behrendt said.

Eagle Creek will locate in the state-of-the-art Regional Technology Center, owned and operated by the Valley City-Barnes County Development Corporation. The 20,000-square-foot facility incorporates an advanced communications infrastructure with special business amenities and features.

Cooperation from Valley City State University (VCSU), a four-year liberal arts college, was a critical component. The university agreed to add coursework for management of Customer Relationship Management systems from Siebel Software, Inc., a key business partner of Eagle Creek. VCSU also agreed to execute a recruiting plan to establish the initial base of employees and provide a steady flow of prospective future employees.

Partners joining the Valley City-Barnes County Development Corporation and VCSU on the successful project include the city of Valley City, Barnes County, Job Service North Dakota, the North Dakota Department of Commerce, the Office of the Governor and the Office of Congressman Pomeroy.

Successful economic development involves our continued work in three areas business start ups, retention and expansion, and recruitment of new companies to the state, said Lee Peterson, commissioner of the North Dakota Department of Commerce. Working with our partners, weve welcomed more new companies to North Dakota communities like Valley City, Cavalier, Hebron, Tioga and Mapleton than ever before. Together, we are improving the quality of life for the people of North Dakota.
