DIRECT RESPONSE EXPANDS TO BEULAH

11/22/02 - Pennsylvania-based Direct Response Technologies Inc. is expanding its operation to Beulah, ND. They expect to hire 10 employees initially with plans for 33 working by the end of 2003.

The North Dakota Department of Commerce and the Beulah Jobs Development Authority have teamed up to bring a new information technology company to Beulah.

At a news conference this morning in Beulah, state and local economic development officials announced that Pennsylvania-based Direct Response Technologies Inc. is expanding its operation to North Dakota. The company, founded in 1994, has grown into one of the countrys premiere, full-service, direct-marketing technology firms.

Gov. John Hoeven said the company is a good fit in the states effort to diversify its economy. Technology is one of the five industries we are targeting to create high-quality jobs in North Dakota. Our world-class telecommunications infrastructure across North Dakota is creating more opportunity for businesses like Direct Response Technologies to expand into North Dakota. With the work of the legislature, the Department of Commerce and local developers, we are moving forward creating opportunity and quality jobs.

Jason Wolfe, CEO of Direct Response Technologies, said his company plans to initially hire 10 people at the Beulah location the companys first expansion outside of Pennsylvania. Wage levels will be similar to those paid in Pittsburgh and range from $25,000-$45,000 for salaried employees and $10-$12 for hourly.

Wolfe said he expects 33 people to be working at the Beulah facility by the end of 2003 and 100 people by the end of 2004 as the company expands into product merchandising.
