TWO ETHANOL PLANT ANNOUNCEMENTS MADE

3/23/2005 - Two new ethanol plants were recently announced in North Dakota.

Red Trail Energy LLC plans to begin construction on the states first new ethanol plant in 20 years. Located in Richardton, the plant should begin producing fuel in the summer of 2006. The $80 million factory will have the potential to produce about 50 million gallons of ethanol a year and will employ 36 people.

A second ethanol facility is being planned for construction near Underwood this summer. Great River Energy plans to use surplus steam heat from the Coal Creek electric power plant to process corn into fuel. This $65 million plant is expected to employ at least 30 people. Headwaters, Inc. of South Jordan, Utah, will be the majority owner on the plant and Great River Energy will be a minority owner.
