Lance Gaebe Named Executive Director of APUC
Posted on February 3, 2000

BISMARCK, ND Julie Mohler, chair of the North Dakota Agricultural Products Utilization Commission (APUC), announced today that Lance Gaebe of New Salem has been selected the commissions new executive director and will begin his duties Feb. 14. Gaebe replaces Russell Hanson who accepted a position as director of the North Dakota Retail-Petroleum Marketers Association.

For the past five years, Gaebe has worked with a variety of North Dakota agricultural associations as a manager for Association Management Services in Bismarck, representing such organizations as the North Dakota Grain Growers Association, the North Dakota Ag Foundation, the North Dakota Buffalo Association, the North Dakota Ag Coalition, and the U.S. Durum Growers Association.

Gaebes experience also includes managing a dairy farm for a development project in Siberia, representing the state on an international agriculture exchange in Belgium, and operating a commercial hay farm in Vermont.

Lances diverse experience and expertise in managing associations will be a valuable asset to the commission, said Mohler. Hes an experienced, proven advocate for value-added agriculture in the state and will be instrumental in moving APUCs product development efforts forward.

Were excited to welcome Lance to the Economic Development and Finance team, said Kevin Cramer, director of the state Economic Development and Finance Department. He will be a strong partner as we move forward in diversifying the states economy and securing its future.

APUC is a division of the state Economic Development and Finance Department and administers five grant programs for researching and developing new and expanded uses for North Dakota agricultural products: basic and applied research, marketing and utilization, cooperative marketing, farm diversification, and agricultural prototype.
