LEGISLATIVE NOTES
Perhaps the biggest economic development issue before our legislators this year deals with the creation of a Department of Commerce. There is a proposal before our state's lawmakers that would merge four state agencies into one department. The possibility exists to merge Economic Development & Finance, Tourism, the Division of Community Services and the Workforce Development Council.
