UNISYS ADDING 100 JOBS

2/1/2005 - For the second time in three years, Unisys Corp. will add about 100 employees to its Bismarck service center. This will bring the total employed to about 350.

The Bismarck center, which opened in 1994, handles transactions such as billing, expense reimbursements and accounts-payable processing for Unisys itself. The new jobs will be professional and managerial roles in support of their transaction-processing work.

Unisys, based in Blue Bell, Pa., provides information technology services for financial-services, transportation and communications companies, as well as for government agencies. It also offers services that corporations decide to outsource, such as processing of claims or payments.

Human resource manager, Robert Black, says the reputation of their North Dakota employees made this expansion possible. According to Black, Bismarck employees are known for doing their work well, doing it quickly and actually enjoying what they do.

Unisys plans to house its new employees in a new 14,000-square-foot office in the Northdale Mall on North 14th Street. The company expects to occupy the space by June.
